Excuse Me, Are those Rag & Bone Jeans You're Wearing?
Diesel keeps pouring out premier denim for guys on the market. Although I think that they still manage to look too feminine, True Religion is also catching up with some speed in men’s denim. I want a guy to look like a guy in his jeans and I want him to feel sexy in them too. So the other night I just had to ask a guy what kind of jeans he was wearing. It was all in the name of research I swear! Yes, it does sound like that old Bugle Boy Jeans commercial
and I knew that the guy would have thought that it was some sort of come on but I really wanted to know. I knew that part of why they looked so good was that he was carrying them so well. They could have been from Costco but he was wearing them as if they were a million dollar pair of jeans. So in the name of research, I pounced and asked. The guy was really flattered and said that he wouldn’t have normally made such the extravagant jean purchase but that it was as good investment. “They’re Rag and Bone and they’re the most comfortable jeans”. Of course I could have taken his word for it but I just had to feel them but I just can’t go and feel on strangers, right?
Ha anyways, like a week later, I ran into a friend and saw that he had the jean thing going to, so for the second time in a week I asked a guy who made his jeans. “Rag & Bone”, he says. So this time I was more comfortable asking him if I could feel his jeans. Of course there was an inappropriate joke but he knows how I am about fashion so he let me indulge. See men, what I do in the name of finding fashion pieces for you! I felt his jeans. And the first guy was right, the denim was super soft. He said that the inside cotton lining on the waistband and the pockets make it very comfortable. “I noticed just how comfortable they were when I had to go commando after I couldn’t find my boxers at a chicks place”. Thanks Kev, as if I really needed to know that. The jeans were generous in all the right places, the stitching is dope and the back pockets are oversized so they don’t give that bubble butt look to guys when the back pockets are just too small.
The 2 male designers for Rag and Bone are continuing their elevated success in their clothing line, especially their men’s denim line. They’re based in North Carolina and they’re all about real all American clothing. Its authentic all American clothing that is simple yet beautiful tailoring with quality fabric. In summer 2007, Rag & Bone was awarded the CFDA award (Council of Fashion Designers of America-which is like the Super Bowl for designers) for emerging designers. They’re also committed to their environmental and grass root based, handmade designs.
Next up for Rag & Bone is perfecting the look of the pin striped jeans. They are also revamping the tux. Now many of you are like, “The tux makes him look like a butler”. Don’t hate guys, that tux is art. Look how the guy is wearing it. He’s wearing it like a piece of art. And something for the ladies, Rag & Bone are currently working on a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik.
So if you’re looking for a fresh alternative to Diesel and something that is comfortable and is going to look good and you don’t mind spending a few extra bills (which is going to be a good investment), then go for the Rag & Bone and you will be getting girls to ask to feel the inside of your pockets in no time.
